Razer Kraken USB Chipset and PCB

The Razer Kraken USB has a small circular shaped circuit board marked HS100B (HP-980). It is called T3 Twinkle USB (Rev 05) manufactured on 16 May 2014. The main IC is HS-100B CFU31268.1 manufactured by the CMedia Corporation. There is also an additional IC ATMLH702.

The HS-100B is a single chip USB 2.0 compliant stereo audio solution. It contains the necessary circuitry to interface with the USB port, and 16-bit digital to analogue converters (DACs) that produce the analogue signal. This signal then feeds the internal stereo headphone amplifier circuits to produce sound form the drivers. This IC also has an analogue to digital converter (ADC) which converts the audio from the microphone into digital. It can also interface with an external EEPROM memory chip for the storage of USB VID/PID and volume setting data.
